Animal Testing

So you’ve heard the rumors, read them online, and probably watched something on TV– all about Mary Kay and other top skincare companies being forced to test on animals to have sales rights in China.

Here’s the true word straight from the company’s mouth

“We’d like to set the record straight: Mary Kay is committed to the elimination of animal testing! Our policy has always been consistent – nothing has changed: We do not conduct animal testing on our products or ingredients, nor ask others to do so on our behalf, except when absolutely required by law. There is only one country where we operate where that is the case – China. As PETA itself pointed out and credited Mary Kay, we are working very closely with the Chinese government to demonstrate that alternative testing methods ensure safe and effective products. For more than two decades Mary Kay has been a global leader in helping develop alternative testing methods for product safety.”

p.s. this message has not changed, MK has said the same thing over and over and over again in every press conference, press release, news story, and literature. This is one company who has their story straight.
